One of the most common questions we hear is: "How often should I really be getting my car detailed?" The honest answer is — it depends. But we can give you a solid framework based on how you use your vehicle and what you're trying to protect.
The baseline: every 4–6 months
For most drivers, a full detail twice a year — once in spring after winter salt exposure, and once in fall before the cold months — is a solid maintenance routine. This keeps your paint protected, your interior fresh, and helps you catch any issues before they get expensive.
Detail more often if...
You have kids or pets in the car regularly
You park outside year-round (UV damage, bird droppings, tree sap)
You eat or drink in your car frequently
You drive on salted roads in winter
Your vehicle is dark-colored (shows swirls and dust more easily)
If you have a ceramic coating
Ceramic-coated vehicles still benefit from regular maintenance details every 6–12 months. The coating does a lot of the heavy lifting — repelling water, contaminants, and UV — but a maintenance detail keeps it performing optimally and checks that the coating hasn't been compromised.
Between details: what you can do yourself
A two-bucket hand wash every few weeks, a quick interior wipe-down, and treating bird droppings or sap immediately will extend the life of your detail significantly. Think of it like dental hygiene — professional cleanings matter, but what you do in between matters too.
